For the past 30 years, an event has brought the fun to Bay Shore. This seafood celebration, which takes aim at cancer, will be back next week.
The annual Clam Shucking Contest is celebrating “30 shucking years” of combining helping others with the excitement of a friendly competition. It will take place at Bay Shore Marina, and prizes will be awarded.
Along with the shucking contest, the organizers have put together an agenda that offers lots of family-friendly fun. Face painters will be on hand, and the younger attendees can try their hand at the corn husking contest. Food, as well as wine, beer, and soft drinks may be purchased on site, and live music and dancing are also in the works. The festivities will be capped off with an even-split draw and large Chinese auction. The proceeds from the day will be passed along to the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition for Long Island.
A creative activity may garner serious attention from the public, which can help to ensure it will meet its funding goals. A poster printing service provider can supply a wide assortment of marketing materials, which can be helpful in building the buzz about an upcoming event.
The 30th annual Clam Shucking contest will add some extra fun to summer on August 13. It will run from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm
