Bay Shore runs for a cause

Northwell Health presents the 36th annual Great South Bay Run.

The event features three courses certified by USA Track & Field (USATF) – which are a 13.1-mile half marathon, a 10K run, and 5K a fun run for families. Hosted by RaceAwesome, each race will start and end at the Bay Shore Marina Park. Those interested in taking part will pass through the Bay Shore downtown area and view the residential homes by the canals, Brightwaters Lakes, and the Cascades. Runners are encouraged to wear properly ventilated clothing and comfortable running shoes.

Every cent of the donations and part of the proceeds from the event will go towards Southside Hospital’s Community Outreach Health and Education Council (COHEC). The aim of COHEC is to improve the quality of life of community members served by Southside Hospital by ensuring access to quality healthcare, wellness, and health literacy.

Registration fees for the events are $49 for the 5k, $72 for the 10k, and $82 for the half marathon. Those who sign up for all three can get a 10% discount per event.

Banner printing is a great way for race organizers to provide information, such as the starting and finishing points of a run.

The event will take place on Saturday, September 24 at the Bay Shore Marina Park, 150 South Clinton Avenue in Bay Shore, New York 11706. Visit the event listing for more information or to register for the race.
