Bay Shore presents drawing event

SEA Visibility and Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs presents Life Model Drawing Studio this coming week.

Standing for “Supports Expression through the Arts,” SEA of Visibility is a non-profit organization that values neurodiversity and mental wellness while embracing BIPOC, queer, and disabled artists. Through exhibitions, performances, and art-making initiatives that span multiple disciplines, SEA supports de-stigmatization and integration. It offers individuals coping, compensating, and professional help, and assists in the production of art that helps others to understand mental illness. Both neurodiverse and neurotypical students are welcome in their workshops, and the open studios offer a secure setting for creativity.

Life drawing educates artists about anatomy and proportions while also letting them use their own experiences. Participants in the classes are given the freedom and autonomy to express the human form. Each class has to have a minimum of five students to be held. Email SEAofVisibility@gmail.com at least 24 hours beforehand to check on the status of a class.

Each session costs $20, although those interested in paying one fee for all six sessions will receive a discount of $30. Flyer printing is an affordable and versatile way for organizers to provide information about classes such as this.

Life Model Drawing Studio will be on Thursday, November 3, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It will be at Teatro Yerbabruja at 17 Second Avenue in Bay Shore, New York 11706. Visit its website for more information or to donate to the organization.
