Licensing expo comes to Las Vegas

An event that will allow attendees to explore aspects of brand licensing is planned in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Licensing Expo is the biggest brand licensing show in the world. Brand licensing is a partnership between the owners of various brands, the licensors, who agree to lease their intellectual property to others, known as licensees. The licensees are then able to offer services or produce merchandise or products under the brand name. These partnerships benefit both parties: the licensee has the use of a recognized name, and the licensor expands into new markets.

There are different types of licenses. Character licenses include characters from cartoons, television shows, or movies, and appeal to fans of the shows. Sports licensing includes licensing sports equipment, player endorsements, and team logos, and software licensing is focused on granting the rights to use software to third parties.

Brand licensing has resulted in the production of everything from band T-Shirts to Spiderman lunchboxes. Companies that are seeking partnerships with popular brands should plan to attend the Licensing Expo, where thousands of brands will be available to discuss business relationships with potential licensees. Some of the partnerships that have begun at the Licensing Expo include Paw Patrol, whose branded Backpacks have earned millions of dollars, and the collaboration between Barbie and the Balmain fashion house.

The Licensing Expo is scheduled for May 19-21, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, and will be the perfect opportunity for attendees to exchange Business Cards.
