Henderson to be treated to online gardening class

Henderson gardeners who would like to catch up on some of the latest trends in small-space growing may want to attend an online learning opportunity next month.

The staff at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension office has put together a virtual workshop that will offer unbiased information to help home horticulturalists who need some help and advice. The facilitator will be Dr. Angela O’Callaghan, who will be supplying everything from troubleshooting tips to ideas for how to maximize the space in a container of other small planting.

During the session, Dr. O’Callaghan will discuss several plant disease symptoms, as well as what may cause them and how to remediate the issue. Soil fertility, watering, and other topics are on the agenda and the registration fee for the function is $10 each. It will run for two and a half hours, and advanced registration is required.

Hosting an online activity like this gives an organization a way to continue to serve the public even when it cannot offer in-person programming. A poster printing company will be able to help spread the word, and it will have a variety of options available for its clients.

With spring being the best time to focus on the garden, this class has been scheduled for May 10. Tickets are on sale now for the function.
