The Parks and Recreation Department in Henderson is preparing back-to-back events for everyone’s favorite four-legged friends. The Inaugural Rover Run 5K and Bark in the Park provides a triple threat of outdoor exercise, doggy demonstrations, and exciting contests.
The Rover Run will follow the Cornerstone Park Trail, tracing out a brisk route through the natural splendor of the park. The first 350 registered participants will get a free T-shirt bearing the Rover Run Logo Design, as well as a special dog tag. All canines must be leashed for the 5K.
Immediately after the run is completed, Bark in the Park begins. The event will have a number of demonstrations of both obedience and agility training. Pet adoptions will also be available at the park for visitors looking to pick up a new furry friend. A small vendor area will also be set up, offering food and drinks for humans, as well as treats and dog food for their pets. Contests and drawings will also be held, but a full list has not yet been announced.
Rover Run and Bark in the Park will be held on March 4 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Cornerstone Park, located at 1600 Wigwam Pkwy. Registration for the 5K costs $35 in advance or $40 the day of the event. Admission to Bark in the Park is free. Anyone looking for more information should visit the website.
