One of the more unusual Easter egg hunts in the area will require participants to bring their flashlights, as the hunt will begin after dark.
Taking place at the end of the month, the 20th Annual Flashlight Egg Hunt will see children in the area, including Manalapan, take part in a novel search for eggs.
Over 2,000 colored eggs (real, not plastic) will be dotting the field. Special eggs will be among the haul and can be redeemed for prizes.
Spectators can enjoy the excitement of watching dots of flickering light from the flashlights of the hordes of children as they scamper across the dark field.
Registration is required and the fee is $10 per child. Registration will be available right up to the time of the event and can be completed on the Katri Center website.
Since money from this event will enable a deserving child to attend Kateri Day Camp, some people may want to get this information to service organizations before their newsletter printing.
The Egg Hunt is scheduled for Friday, March 31 starting at 8:00 pm at Kateri Center, 160 Conover Road, Wickatunk. Participants are advised to get there early as once the onslaught starts the hunt progresses rapidly. The storm date will be April 1. The scramble should be over around 9:30 pm.
