Manalapan battlefield to host candlelight tour

A unique battlefield tour experience is coming to Manalapan in a few weeks, bringing historians and spooky season enthusiasts together for a candlelit tour.

The Candlelight Tour of the Monmouth Battlefield, presented by the Friends of Monmouth Battlefield, has opened online registration for history buffs and individuals seeking a spooky experience in a unique setting. The event will be led by a historical expert and interpreter with expertise on the Battle of Monmouth.

The event is back by popular demand. The interpreter will lead groups to different focal points upon the battlefield, using a lantern to light the way. Attendees will see the parts of the battlefield that experienced the most violence and bloodshed.

The path will lead these individuals across the same areas where soldiers of the Continental and British Armies walked over two centuries ago. Flyer printing is a superb way to promote such events around the community, with high-traffic areas generating dozens of impressions.

Guests will also learn about the aftermath of the battle, including the burial of the soldiers who fell on the field. A flashlight or cell phone light is recommended, as the path has minimal lighting and unpaved terrain.

The tour will be held at the Monmouth Battlefield in Manalapan on Saturday, October 18th, starting at 5:45 PM. The tour is free, but there are limited spots available. Registration is open online.
