Holiday fair returns to East Hanover animal shelter

The 42nd annual holiday fair of the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter is set to take place this year on nine different days.

Founded in 1972, the shelter began as a modest organization known as the Wessex Animal League (WAWL). Each Saturday, the WAWL held an adoption event at the Caldwell Community Center. As the organization grew, it hosted its first holiday fair in 1977. In 1978 to 1998, the Wessex Animal League merged with the Montclair Animal Welfare League to become the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter.

This year's exciting holiday affair will be hosted directly at the East Hanover animal shelter. A diverse selection of discounted items will be available for sale, including baked goods, jewelry and other accessories, clothing, pet supplies, and a wide variety of household items. Poster printing is an eye-catching method of advertising often used by organizers of such events.

Adults and children of all ages are welcome. The items will be priced down by 50% or more of original cost. All proceedings will contribute to the care of the shelter’s dogs and cats.

This event is set to take place from December 7 to December 15 at 9:30 am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sundays, 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and from 12:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday.
