East Hanover residents can enjoy a spooky yet educational evening at the Nocturnal Neighbors - Spiders event.
This event is hosted by the nearby Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Participants can collect brochure printings detailing spider species found at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum.
The evening activity is suitable for families and children ages five and up. For this event, guests will participate in a small hike around the arboretum, where attendees are encouraged to spot and classify any spiders.
A guide will be present throughout the evening to lead and help attendees find and identify the arachnids. Additionally, the guide will be providing interesting facts about the identified species. Guests are encouraged to observe and take photos of the spiders but are not allowed to touch or take them out of the area. To conclude the spider hunt, the guide will host a storytelling event around a campfire. S'mores will be provided for all attendees.
The Nocturnal Neighbors - Spiders event will take place Friday, June 19th, 2020 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Admission is free for members. For non-members, admission is $10 per person. Registration is required to participate.
This event is part of the Nocturnal Neighbor series hosted by the Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Its website is available to learn more about the membership program and other upcoming activities in the Nocturnal Neighbors series.
