The Whippany Fire Company will host their annual 5K run this spring. This is a USATF-certified course on township flat and incline roads.
This is an annual event that helps the fire company serve the community. This year, the funds raised will go toward a new fire house, as well as general operating costs. Registration will open the morning of the race at 7:30 am, and the race will begin at 8:30 am. Awards will be handed out at 9:45 am for the top three male and female runners age 19 and under, and then in five year age intervals. There will also be an award for the top male and female runner overall.
Registration for the race is currently open. Late registration and day-of will cost $30. Those who pre-register are guaranteed a race T-shirt, while those registering on the day may receive one if supplies allow.
The race will begin and end at Bee Meadow Park on Reynolds Ave in Whippany, the next town over from East Hanover and only a two- or three-mile journey. Parking will be available at the lot at the school across the street.
Events like this often use banner printing to help advertise, perhaps hanging Banners from sizeable buildings like the existing fire house. This event is currently scheduled for Sunday, May 5.
