This year, East Hanover will host the Battle of the Big Bands for a night of swinging musical entertainment. The show will feature music from Glenn Miller and Cab Calloway.
The two bands, the present day incarnations of the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Cab Calloway Orchestra, will perform together and separately. The event is set up as a friendly rivalry, with the leaders of the orchestras bantering in between numbers. Between them, many classic numbers will be played, including ‘In the Mood’, ‘Moonlight Serenade’, ‘Little Brown Jug’, ‘Jumpin’ Jive’, and more.
Battle of the Big Bands is a group that presents music from the 1930s and ‘40s live for modern audiences to enjoy. The orchestra is made up of professional musicians.
This event will be held at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, less than 10 miles away from East Hanover. There are two parking lots reserved for use by patrons of MPAC, as well as multiple paid lots in the area. Most of these lots are within easy walking distance, less than a mile away.
