East Hanover residents can enjoy a crafty Sunday at the nearby Morris County School of Glass.
The Entry to Glass workshop is a two-part class that will give attendees an introduction to glassmaking. Participants are encouraged to pick up Business Cards to share the variety of classes offered with friends and family.
The Entry to Glass workshop will introduce new glassmaking students to shaping and forming molten glass and how to add color and characterize their creations. Students can expect to make a variety of glass objects such as flowers, galaxy globes, sun catcher, tumbler, or bowls.
Since attendees will interact with very hot, molten substances, this event is for people ages 16+. If an attendee is younger than 18, parents/guardians are required to sign a waiver on arrival to the first class. If the minor is attending the class alone, parents/guardians must ask for and sign the waiver in advance of the first session via email.
Participants are advised that open-toed shoes are not allowed. As the studio could be 10–20 degrees hotter than the outside temperature, students are encouraged to bring a drink.
The workshop will take place across two Sundays, with the first session taking place on July 12 and the second on July 19. Both sessions will be from 9:00 am - 11:30 am. In total, there is a total of five hours of instructions. The cost for the workshop is $290, and no experience required.
