East Hanover class to get creative with towels

Sew Jersey in East Hanover will hold the Embroidering Towels course next month for anyone interested in learning proper embroidery techniques to create towel works of art.

Sew Jersey is a fabric retailer based in East Hanover that provides quality fabrics, sewing, and quilting supplies, as well as preowned sewing machines for sale. The shop also offers various sewing and crafting-related classes and clubs for customers wanting to learn new skills or home existing ones.

The embroidery class will teach attendees how to effectively create monogramed towels that can be given as gifts or kept as a pretty addition to the home. Expert embroiders will teach the class adding designs, centering designs, redwork embroidery techniques, hooping techniques, how to choose the correct stabilizers, and how to create clean designs on plush fabric. Students will learn two different designs in the class, which are monograming a beach or bath towel and sewing a redwork dish towel.

Organizers of crafting workshops will often invest in physical advertising materials, such as Flyers and Posters, to stir up interest about their events. Making connections with local businesses specializing in flyer printing and poster printing can help with these advertising endeavors.

The embroidery class is scheduled for April 29 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Sew Jersey is located at 36 State Route 10. The class fee is $45.
