This course is for those students interested in learning Six Sigma techniques and philosophies. Six Sigma promotes team leadership and the Dmaic model of:
“Define, measure, analyze, improve, and control.”
The course will be offered in five sets of eight-hour sessions and will be taught by Richard Herczeg and Dr. Gurbachan “Guru” Chadha who have more than 30 years of experience between them.
Coming up after that on Friday, August 2 at 6:30 pm will be a fundraiser to benefit Project Futures; a non-profit organization based in Sydney that raises funds and awareness for programs dedicated to the end of human trafficking in South East Asia and Australia.
‘Half the Sky: Turning Opression into Opportunity’ is a television series shot on location in Cambodia, Pakistan, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Somaliland, India, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Kenya, and the United States. It follows the lives of the girls and women who are fighting to change the circumstances under which they live.
Along with reporter Nicholas Kristof, the series features such names as America Ferrera, Eva Mendes, Diane Lane, Meg Ryan, Gabrielle Union, and Olivia Wilde advocating on behalf of the women in the different countries.
The event will be held at The Basement Lecture Theatre, 198 Berkley Street, Staten Island. Admission includes a drink and snacks. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for non-students. Poster printing makes a great advertisement for upcoming events like this one.
