For kids with special developmental, cognitive and physical needs, making the transition from high school to adulthood may not always be an easy one. Families who are well prepared can make the process easier for their son or daughter, and an East Brunswick workshop can help.
One of Disability Allies, Inc. mandates is to create a more inclusive community, and its transitioning information sessions are one of its initiatives. They explain why it is important to start the process early on in a child’s life, as this will give them lots of time to prepare.
The parents and youth who attend the workshop will find out what can be done, even in a child's high school years, to help prepare them for adulthood. This can result in a changeover in the services they receive that is as seamless as possible, and will also be helpful in other areas of their life, such as seeking accommodations at a post-secondary institution.
The attendees at this type of function are often eager to learn and have lots of questions. Offering transition kits they can turn to after the session is over can help them to make the most of the event, and a brochure printing company will be able to lend a hand.
