Quick action saves mans life in East Brunswick

A local man recently survived a very close call while using LA Fitness pool in East Brunswick, thanks to the quick thinking of a fellow swimmer, facility staff the paramedics and police.

The man was taking a swim when he lost consciousness. John Trzciak, who was nearby, noticed he was in trouble and came over to help. Not being able to find a pulse, he began CPR. Staff member Samantha Vinciguerra brought over the building’s portable defibrillator and gave the victim one shock, after which the compressions were continued.

Meanwhile, the emergency responders had been called, and Officer Brian Ventura took over once he arrived on the scene. Other officers used the defibrillator three more times and CPR was resumed. Their rapid response and knowledge of what to do saved his life.

The man was transported by paramedics to the hospital after he received more lifesaving treatment that caused his heart to begin beating again.

This case illustrates how important it can be for people to be trained in first aid and for a defibrillator to be on hand for use in emergencies. A poster printing firm can produce Posters and other signage that lets the public know where they can find this piece of lifesaving equipment and also how to use it should it ever be needed

The gentleman was able to recover and recently walked out of the hospital on his own.
