Native American traditions will be showcased in a national event honoring indigenous heritage.
Hosted by the Redhawk Native American Arts Council, the Raritan Native American Heritage Celebration and PowWow is a two-day event that is open to the public.
The PowWow contest will include more than 500 Native American artists and performers from all over the United States. The Grand Entry of Dancers which serves as the main attraction will take place at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. during both days of the festival. The event will feature special segments including the Ron Pasaghesic Men’s Traditional Special and the Pura Women’s Fancy Shawl Special along with traditional dancing competitions.
The PowWow features an artisan marketplace which showcases over 40 booths that sell handcrafted items along with jewelry and traditional Native foods. The event offers sampling opportunities for attendees to try buffalo burgers alongside venison stew and corn soup. Vendors are likely to use poster printing for their booths.
Admission fees require adults and teens aged 13 and older to pay $15 while children from 6 to 12 and seniors aged 65 and up as well as students with valid ID pay $10 each. The online family four-pack ticket which includes entrance for two adults as well as two children aged between 6 and 12 years costs $45. Children five and under are admitted free.
The Raritan Native American Heritage Celebration and PowWow will occur during two days June 21–22, 2025 at the fairgrounds located in East Brunswick, New Jersey.
