East Brunswick selected to be new home for MCFOODS

East Brunswick is the new home for the Middlesex County Food Organization and Outreach Distribution Services.

Also known as ‘MCFOODS’, the organization made the move so that it could have a larger space and potentially obtain refrigerated food storage facilities as time progresses. According to Jennifer Apostol, who is the project manager for the Middlesex County Improvement Authority, which is the agency that oversees MCFOODS, it will also provide more room for the staff members to perform their duties.

It is hoped that the new facility will make it easier for the organization to do their work, which includes distributing nonperishable items to many different community service groups such as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, seniors citizens housing, and women’s and children’s groups.

A Stationery printing firm will be able to provide any printed materials that are needed to make the new distribution services run smoothly, such as Business Cards for the employees, record sheets and Forms, receipt blanks, and signage.

The announcement about the move to the new location was made during a meeting held for Middlesex County food pantries. The event was put on to provide a networking opportunity for those who took part, as well as a chance to discuss the issues that they deal with and how best to connect with community resources that can support them in their efforts.
