East Brunswick plans spring seed swap

East Brunswick gardeners are reminded that spring is not far away, and they may want to add an event to their March calendar.

The community’s library recently announced that it will be the venue for a Seed Swap for local green thumbs, and it will be supported by EB Grow as well as Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission. It will both distribute seeds and explore the benefits of the practice, and all are welcome.

Those who would like to be part of the day are encouraged to bring along sany eeds they have harvested and saved themselves, and ones from commercial houses will also be welcome. Tubers, starts, and bulbs will also be in the mix, and if they have a photo of the adult plant or information about how to grow and care for them, attendees are asked to bring this along as it will also be appreciated.

As well as supplying an opportunity for thrifty gardeners to fill their beds, a seed swap also encouraged biodiversity, sustainability and a chance for the attendees to meet their fellow home horticulturalists. A poster printing company will be able to offer marketing materials for area public events like this.

This opportunity for gardeners to get swapping is scheduled for Sunday, March 5. It will be running from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
