The East Brunswick Education Foundation (EBEF) will be holding a fundraiser it calls ‘Dancing With the EB Stars’ to raise money to help efforts to provide support for programs and other initiatives at East Brunswick Public Schools.
Modeled after its namesake TV show, the production will feature local celebrities who will be learning and performing a set of dances with a professionally trained instructor from a dance school in the area. The theme for this year’s show is ‘At the Movies’, so the routines will be based upon those seen in classic films.
This is the third year for the event. The first was held in 2013 and raised almost $50,000. The funds collected come from ticket sales, donations, sponsorship, votes and selling spaces in the finale program. A catalog printing company can produce these at a price that will not be too much of a hit to a group’s fundraising budget.
The EBEF will use the money raised to pay for bringing guest speakers and visiting artists to area schools, as well as to help support programs related to world culture and history. Money may also help purchase materials and special supplies for local educational institutions.
The finale performance will take place at the East Brunswick Performing Arts Center in Hammarskjold Middle School, getting underway on October 4th. Anyone interested in learning more is invited to visit the Dancing with the EB Stars website.
