Community drive to collect school donations

The East Brunswick Recreation Youth Council will be sponsoring a community drive to provide new school supplies for needy kids in the area.

Donations can range from colored and ordinary drawing pencils to binders, folders, Backpacks, and crayons. These items can be dropped at the Brunswick Square Mall's Center Court.

In addition, residents can donate gift cards from Walmart or Target in denominations of $10 and $20. These gift cards will be donated to families in need to help them purchase other school supplies for the coming academic year.

This year’s event will also feature giveaways for attendees, merchandise, and an appearance by the Brunswick Bear, who is the official East Brunswick community mascot.

The Youth Council works to create a safe and nurturing environment for students in grades 9-12 through close collaboration with the Township of East Brunswick's Division of Recreation and Community Services. It also serves as a source of education, information, and exchange of ideas about youth-related issues.

As such, the council also works with flyer printing services to ensure they reach as many members of the community as possible.

This year’s drive will be a two-day event, held on July 20 (10:00 am to 2:00 pm) and July 21 (12:00 pm to 3:00 pm). Attendees can indulge in plenty of family-friendly fun while supporting the underprivileged people in the community.
