Agreement allows for seamless transfer of students in East Brunswick

After completing an associate's degree at Middlesex College, students can now pursue a bachelor's degree at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, thanks to an agreement between the two institutions.

The deal signed by the two institutions during an event that took place in Middlesex College Edison Campus gives immediate conditional acceptance at Rutgers-New Brunswick to students enrolled at Middlesex College. This is first initial Dual Admissions pact executed among a two-year institution and Rutgers University, located nearby East Brunswick.

Praful Raja, the chair of the Middlesex College Board of Trustees, commented to say:
“With the signing of this new agreement, we are affirming for students and their parents that beginning at Middlesex College is a smart move that will position students for success at Rutgers–New Brunswick.”

The agreement states that Middlesex College students who have passed the application process and have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.8 can attend most courses at Rutgers-New Brunswick, excluding certain programs. A full list of programs and services offered by an institution can be presented with brochure printing.

As per New Jersey's Comprehensive Statewide Transfer Agreement, students who fulfill all requirements will be admitted to Rutgers–New Brunswick as fully-fledged third-year undergraduates, with credits transferred and application costs waived. Rutgers-New Brunswick will handle financial assistance for the bachelor's degree program, while Middlesex College will handle it for the associate's program.
