What's Happening in Cherry Hill, NJ…

Cherry Hill schools go entirely remote this fall

Cherry Hill public schools have reopened with a remote learning only model. They were previously set to reopen with an in person and remote learning model.

Superintendent Dr. Joseph Meloche says this is because of a lack of certified teachers and substitutes for this fall. The School Age Childcare Program will not be available either.

Most teachers wanted to delay in-person teaching in preparation for a future hybrid model. The district will follow the reopening plan for remote learning approved by the Cherry Hill Board of Education last month.

The district understands that virtual teaching will offer challenges and frustration for parents and teachers, but emphasises that the remote learning plan is robust with online learning resources, and teachers delivering instruction from their classrooms to students. They will be delivering Chromebooks to those students that need them, and the district will continue to provide free lunches to those applicable.

Classes will be held Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 3:45 pm for elementary schools, while middle and high school classes run 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. These will include math, history, science, language, music, art, and a lunch break. Print services design and print instructional materials for schools and online learning programs like this.

The program will have regular classes, and conferences with teachers and parents. This plan will remain in effect until November 4,
