Cherry Hill presentation to help curb cancer
As science discovers more about the role genetics play in illness and disease, they are finding links between a person’s genes and their cancer risk, and this is the topic for an upcoming area discussion.
Cherry Hill Public Library has invited Ashley Purper, MPH, who is the Community Cancer Control Specialist, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, to speak on the connection between hereditary cancer risk and lifestyle choices. It's for those ages 18 and up.
The activity will explore recent discoveries , and the attendees will learn how and why cancers form and also how some may be hereditary, passed down through a family as well as show to find out if they are at risk themselves. This way if there is a problem, they can be proactive about and take steps to protect their health.
While a presentation may be very informative, the audience may walk away wanting to learn even more. A brochure printing company will be pleased to put together a set of educational materials to distribute to the attendees to read once the function has drawn to a close as well as small promotional products that my aid in raising awareness.
The Cherry Hill Public Library has scheduled this exploration of the link between genes and cancer risk on October 17th. It will be staring at 7:00 pm.
