Cherry Hill plans Project Prom

Attending prom can be pricey, but a Cherry Hill event may help to take away some of the financial bite.

Cherry Hill Public Library will be hosting the Project Prom initiative, which encourages the public to dig their unused formal wear from the back of their closet so that it can be passed along to a new owner. Donations will be accepted until February 16th, and an event has been scheduled for teenagers to choose their favorite.

Families are welcome to drop by and browse through the dresses, and no advance registration required. There will be a variety of styles and sizes of formal wear in the mix, and there will be popup tents set up to serve as change rooms. Every teen will be able to choose one outfit to keep, and those who come out are welcome to bring along a donation if they wish, but this is not required. Items will be available on a first come, first served basis.

A donation drive can be a way to raise money, as well as encourage the contribution of gifts in kind or other donations, and they also raise public awareness of a cause. A poster printing company will be happy to help, and can prepare an assortment of promotional materials.

Project Prom will be breathing new life into gently used formal wear on February 26th. Donations will be accepted for drop off at the library until February 16th. All types of formal wear will be appreciated.
