Cherry Hill Library workshop to construct memory books
The Cherry Hill Public Library offers the area a variety of learning opportunities, and one of these will see those who take part craft a project they will be able to share with a loved one experiencing memory issues.
The two-part memory book workshop will prepare personalized books that can be used to store information that may be helpful to those living with dementia. It provides the opportunity to do so in a single place that can be easily accessed, and the completed book can be taken home at the end of the session.
Participants have been asked to bring along a photo of the individual they are creating the book for, as well as other pictures connected with a particularly memorable experience such as an event or trip. Other decorations are welcome as well. The rest of the supplies needed will be provided. A form has been prepared to complete in advance, and this will help in the construction of the project.
A crafting class offers the opportunity to learn some new skills while also meeting new people. Materials prepared by a flyer printing company can be effective spreading the word about an upcoming learning session.
The Cherry Hill Public Library, which can be found at 1100 Kings Highway North, has set Tuesday, October 15 as the date for the first installment of the Memory Book workshop. The second is scheduled for the following Tuesday, October 22. Both sessions will run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
