Spring can be a great time of the year to plant a tree, and a Cherry Hill program will see at least 300 seedlings installed in various locations around the community.
Dubbed “Branching Out,” the initiative organized by Cherry Hill Township will provide free seedlings, and they will be distributed for as long as supplies last. They will only be provided to Cherry Hill residents, and four different species are on the list.
Those who would like to take advantage of the opportunity can choose from Atlantic white cedar (Arborvitae) as well as chestnut oak, northern red oak, and white oak. Each species has its own set of conditions that they do well in, and due to their final size, they are well suited to large yards and other open spaces. The tube seedlings will be provided to the public in late April at Croft Farm, which is located at 100 Bortons Mill Road.
Planting a tree has been said to be an investment in the future, and providing new plant parents with care tips and planting instructions can help to give them a good start. These can be prepared by Print shops along with tags and the materials.
The Branching Out tree initiative will help the community to go green on Saturday, April 26. It will begin at 10:00 am and wrap upon at 12:00 pm.
