The existing New Hampshire holding company includes Merrimack County Savings Bank and Meredith Village Savings Bank. However, the plan is to broaden the scope of what the bank has to offer. Further, lending capacity to businesses in Plymouth and elsewhere in New Hampshire may be increased.
Two more stages have to be passed before the scheme gets the green light. Firstly, a formal vote must take place. Secondly, regulatory approval has to be granted. The serving chief executive of New Hampshire Mutual Bankcorp is ready to retire. Laverack told the Laconia Daily Sun:
“I started in the role of branch manager in Moultonborough and Ashland. and was a jack of all trades at the main office, moving into executive management over the years. I watched it prosper and grow to 12 branches while I was at the bank.”
Laverack wants to enjoy his life after a long career. He understands that some large businesses in the region should gain from the potential bank consolidation. Tewksbury wishes to up lending to firms as well, and appreciates that there could be more room for the development of skilled workers in a larger corporation.
