Career Closet launched by Plymouth State University

The grand opening of a Plymouth State University (PSU) Career Closet was celebrated with a ribbon cutting event and is currently accepting donations.

The Academic and Career Advising Center in conjunction with the PSU Student Support Foundation founded the Career Closet with the mission to supply business attire for free to students. The donation-based program offers students access to an extensive assortment of business casual clothing appropriate for professional situations such as career fairs, corporate events and job interviews.

The opportunities for networking at corporate events mean bringing a plentiful supply of Business Cards is a must for everyone concerned.

Matthew Barlow, the president of the PSU Student Support Foundation elaborated on the program saying:

“Launching the Career Closet has been a great way for the community to come together to help each other. We’ve had fun transforming the space, and we’re excited to open and begin offering free business attire to any student who needs it, whether for a job interview, internship, or a first job.”

Donations of dress pants, professional skirts and dresses, button-down shirts, cardigans, sweaters and blazers and jackets for both sexes as well as professional shoes and accessories are available. The Career Closet asks that all donations be clean and devoid of stains rips and tears.

Appointments must be scheduled for clothing donation drop-offs and are available Monday – Friday and can be obtained by contacting the University.
