University launches one-year degree program

Plymouth State University (PSU) has set-up an MBA program where a small group of students complete their degree in one year. The full-time graduate program is designed for students that want small classes and engagement with professors.

Students can enroll even when they did not study business as an under graduate. The program now takes 25 students with plans for expansion in the future. The first group began in July 2019 and will graduate in May 2020.

Donald Brix, president of Plymouth State University, said that they used feedback from alumni and prospective students to create the new MBA program. MBA students will build a community and network in business with students from different backgrounds.

The program prepares student to be successful business leaders. Those that did not study business were required to take two business courses that gives them a basic foundation to work with. They offer in-person classes, online and in-person course work.

One student said among the benefits of smaller classes are being able to ask professors questions and experiencing more interaction with other students.

PSU is accepting applications for the MBA program until April 15. The program offers internship, accounting and finance, economic analysis, healthcare administration and finance management, economic analysis, marketing, and other courses.
