Summer scenic railway excursion to Plymouth

This summer, the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad is offering a new immersive traveling experience in the form of a four-and-a-half-hour train ride from Meredith to Plymouth and back.

Part of the Granite State Railroad, the excursion known as the Alouette will provide travelers with views of Ashland Summit and Lake Waukewan. The journey will begin in Meredith and will take guests over the Ashland High Trestle passing the Glove Hollow Christmas Tree Farm and the Bonnie Brae Deer Farm. It will then pull into the Plymouth station to begin a two-hour layover in the city.

The trip, which will be offered throughout July and August on every other Friday beginning July 11, will give Plymouth a chance to impress visitors with sightseeing, shopping, and dining options.

Businesses often plan special promotions around unique events with the help of local Print shops.

An estimated $656.2 million was generated during last year’s tourist season, and the White Mountains Attractions Association anticipates a similar season this year from the New Hampshire White Mountains region’s 17 major attractions.

Departures from Meredith Station by rail to Plymouth will be at 11:00 am on July 11 and July 25, as well as August 8 and August 22. Coach ticket prices for the Alouette excursions are $44.99 for youngsters age 4 to 12 and $56.99 for adults. First class for children is $62.99 and $74.99 for adults. Children aged three and under ride for free.
