The Silver Center for the Arts at Plymouth State University has announced its list of concerts, author appearances, recitals, and lectures for the Fall.
The Silver Center opened in 1992. It has the Hanaway Theater, a 665 theater for the performing arts, and the Smith Recital Hall, which is a 174-seat theater for recitals.
On September 8 from 3-4 p.m, Aubrie Dionne will have a flute recital in the Smith Recital Hall. The music will be from Bach, Beethoven, and Hayden. They will perform Bach Double Vision Concerto using flute and violin. It is performed by MCS faculty and is free.
The Eagle Pond Author Series will have Robin Becker perform on September 10 from 7-8 p.m. in the Smith Recital Hall. He will discuss and read his poetry Books from the Pitt Poetry Series All American Girl and The Black Bear Inside Me. It is free but tickets are required.
A facility recital will be held for Meghan Davis on the clarinet on September 17 from 7-8 p.m. She and the Acacia Chamber Music perform work by Michael Merlet, Jennifer Higdon and others composers. Brochure printing is often in demand for organizations like this.
Dr. Allison McLetchie will talk on The Southern Strategy: The Role of Racism in US Elections. This event will be on September 17 at 7-8 p.m. in Smith Recital Hall. She discusses how the voting system has been shaped by political parties, race, the and voting system. The event is free but tickets should be acquired beforehand.
