Shaheens Invest in NH tour makes university stop

United States Senator Jeanne Shaheen recently included stops in Plymouth, Whitefield, and Littleton on her Invest in NH tour, which highlights the funding Shaheen secured through the recently signed government funding bill for fiscal year 2023.

Shaheen’s first stop was at Plymouth State University where she detailed the $2.1m award that she helped in obtaining to support the school’s Nursing Workforce Expansion project. The funding will be used to expand the physical learning space and the program’s capacity for educating nursing students.

While at PCU Senator Shaheen said:

“We’ve experienced the dire challenges posed by shortages in our nursing workforce — particularly amid the pandemic. Now is the time to invest in robust nursing training and support to put quality health care within reach for every Granite Stater.”
