A quartet of public servants from New Hampshire – U.S. Senators Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen, and U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas and Rep. Annie Kuster – all supported the Inflation Reduction Act, which for the most part made the recent funding announcement possible.
Kuster, of the state’s 2nd district (which includes Plymouth), explained that she considered renewable energy systems to be a what she termed a “win-win” for the economy and the environment. She emphasized the importance of small rural businesses being able to access the technology that will lower their costs and increase the efficiency of their operations.

Senator Shaheen praised the influx of funds for investment in critical energy projects within the state, which included such projects as supporting renewable energy systems and installing solar arrays. Her fellow senator from New Hampshire, Maggie Hassan, said:
"Today's REAP grant will make a tangible difference for nine small businesses in our state– helping them invest in renewable energy systems and energy efficiency upgrades.”
The funding is coming from the USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), which is tailored to help agriculture producers, farmers and entrepreneurs enact energy efficiency improvements and reduce costs.
