PSU to share in $100,000 in student aid donation

A $100,000 donation from Granite Edvance to the University System of New Hampshire (USNH) is designated for undergraduate students’ non-academic emergency needs.

The three schools that are part of the system, Plymouth State University, Kenne State College and the University of New Hampshire are to each benefit from the donation that will be used to provide short-term financial support. The funds will augment the programs at the three schools that are already in place to provide basic needs including food pantries.

The financial impediments facing students are diverse with emergency funds for students here at Plymouth State University having recently being doled out for the purchase of gas, medicine, insurance and nutritious food.

USNH Chancellor Catherine Provencher explained:

“Our students come from all backgrounds and walks of life, and the real-world problems many of them face don’t go away when they enroll in college. Supports like this can assist with the financial challenges that crop up, to help students stay in school, focus on their studies and be successful in the future.”

Universities have a natural partner in banner printing services with that form of marketing being used throughout the campus both inside as well as outside.

The need for emergency funding for students is supported by recent studies as well as the positive impact it provides.

A nationwide survey conducted by the Hope Center in 2024 concluded that 3 out of 5 college students face food and housing insecurity.
