Plymouth State University (PSU) is collaborating with the community college system of New Hampshire to provide guaranteed admission to some community college graduates into its business program starting in 2022.
Plymouth will permit those community college graduates who have an associate business degree to enroll in its business administration program to earn a bachelor of science degree.
The new program will enable students to enter the four-year college at year three and bypass the patchwork crediting system frequently used by four-year institutions. According to Matt Wallace, Plymouth State Director, the goal is to minimize wasted time.
College is expensive and can factor significantly in a high school student’s future, and brochure printing services may make sorting through all the variable simpler and decision making easier.
Wallace views the program as providing an alternative path for students who many not have the financial resources to attend a four-year university, wish to spend part of their college years at a nearby community college or who do not feel ready to start a full four-year university program.
A predecessor to this new program is one where students with liberal arts associate degrees from community colleges are guaranteed acceptance at Plymouth State University.
New Hampshire is home to 11 community colleges, the business graduates of which will all be guaranteed admission at Plymouth State University.
