Three not-for-profit grops in Plymouth recently received grants from the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
Awarded through the Foundation’s grants program. the money helps non-profits provide programs to families in need.
The Mid State Health Center was awarded $60,000, Plymouth Renewable Energy Initiative claimed $57,000, and Pemi Youth Center Inc. was given $30,000. All agencies provide needed services to local families.
The Plymouth Area Renewable Energy program was formed to help families and businesses with renewable energy programs, solar programs, and food production. It has a local farmers’ market where residents can buy fresh produce from local farmers and vendors. Customers can pick up orders or have them delivered.
Plymouth Area Renewable Energy has a Solar Share program for low-income families. The agency provides energy audits and advises customers on how to save energy in their homes.
The Mid State Health Center provides a number of medical services to adults, children, and seniors in Plymouth. These include running the Feed the Need Food Pantry, nutrition services, an imaging center, prescription services, behavioral health services, dental services, addiction recovery, and family medicine.
Pemi Youth Services serves kids of 10-17 years providing free programs for after school and during vacations. It has creative art workshops, recreational programs, academic support, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) activities. The NH Charitable Foundation gave over $4m to organizations in the state in 2020.
