New administrator on the job in Grafton County

Plymouth and the rest of Grafton County has a new administrator – one with town management experience in both Vermont and New Hampshire.

Andrew Dorsett, the new administrator, impressed the search committee with his ability to effortlessly speak on a wide number of issues concerning county government and public administration, according to Wendy Piper the Grafton County commissioners’ chairwoman. Piper stresses they had been looking for a candidate who could not only manage the county but play an innovative role at the county complex.

Before taking this new job in Grafton at $121,992 a year, Dorsett has been the town manager of Littleton, New Hampshire over the last five years. Prior to that, he worked in Barre Town, Vermont as an assistant town manager and as a town administrator in Bradford, Vermont and Warren, New Hampshire.

Part of the excitement of a new job for many is that it provides them with a reason to order new Business Cards, often complete with a totally different graphic design.

Dorsett, who has a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in Public Administration, now holds the job vacated by Julie Libby, who had been long-time County Administrator. Libby chose to give up the position after holding the top job for over 18 years, and has instead become the Grafton County finance director.
