Manufactured home park now owned by residents

Pine Gate Mobile Home Park in Plymouth is now owned by its residents making it the state’s 144th resident-owned community (ROC).

The recent purchase by the Pine Gate Cooperative brings the total of ROC in Grafton County up to 15, and makes the total number of affordable homes in these communities up to 477.

With training and assistance provided by the ROC-NH team of the New Hampshire Community Loan Fund, homeowners in the 34-unit manufactured-home park founded their cooperative in 2018. Carolyn Adams and Marjorie Noseworthy, president and vice president respectively of the Pine Gate Co-op, began negotiations on behalf of the organization to purchase the park that same year.

A deal to purchase the park, however, was not arrived at until this August when a price was agreed upon and the group was approved for a mortgage from the Community Loan Fund for the purchase price $650,000.

Almost 8,700 homeowners have access to fair home financing, annual leadership training, and management guidance, earning them college credit thanks to the Community Loan Fund. The Fund has worked in large and small communities across the state for the last 39 years to connect business owners, families, and individuals with the loans, advice, and training that has enabled them to secure affordable homes, quality childcare, and secure jobs.
