Included in the governor’s proposed $14.9B budget would be significant pay raises for state employees, additional money for schools, and revamping the state licensing system to make it more effective at attracting new workers.
In presenting his new budget, the governor touted what he called “pathways of opportunities”, saying:
"Government is not here to guarantee a solution to your problems, but it is here to give a pathway to opportunity."

Sununu’s proposed budget assumes current revenues will continue, adds no new taxes or fees, includes federal funds and is 12 percent higher than the present biennial budget. It also sets aside an additional $180 million to the state’s “rainy day” fund.
Other details of the budget include increasing by 3% the reimbursement rate to Medicaid healthcare providers and student debt relief for those on mental health treatment career paths. The governor also wishes to provide robotics instructions to all middle schools and high schools, as well as certifying hundreds more computer science teachers.
