Boulder Point Veteran Housing in Plymouth recently had a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its opening.
This new permanent residence has been built to house homeless veterans. Peter Keller, CEO of Harbor Homes envisioned this project eight years ago. Over 100 people attended the ribbon cutting ceremony on September 6.
Boulder Point Veterans Housing has 25 apartments that are one-bedroom and five with two bedrooms. Half of the units have already been rented. The project is a public private partnership between the local government and state.
Senator Jeanne Shaheen says they saw a need for change and took action. She congratulated Plymouth on completing the project and says the project can be used as a national model.
Another senator, Maggie Hassan, said it was encouraging to see a community make efforts to end homelessness for veterans.
Alex Ray of Common Man Family of Restaurants was a big supporter of the project. He provided a lunch for the recent ceremony. The state helped with project funding by applying for grants.
The community played its part by providing building materials for the housing project and labor. There are plans to use alternative energy at the accommodation.
Boulder Point Veteran Housing is located at 180 Boulder Point Road. It has ample parking, a community room, offices, and support services. Plymouth has Print shops that design promotional Pens for project like this.
