Plans for the construction of an assisted living facility for Nashua residents who are living with Alzheimer’s disease is one step closer to being built.
National Development, the firm which will build the new care center, recently purchased a vacant manufacturing site at 575 Amherst Street for $2 million. The company will partner with EPOCH Senior Living to design and erect the building, which will provide space for 54 residents.
The plans call for the building to have one level, and be around 60,000 square feet in size. The facility will be made up of three wings, and feature large gardens and outdoor landscaped spaces where the residents will be able to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine in a safe environment.
Michael Crowley, who represents National Development, noted that this will be the first facility of its type to be constructed in the state by EPOCH, and that there has been a rapid increase in demand for this kind of accommodation. Crowley also remarked that he hopes that there will be spin off benefits for the community, especially in terms of employment opportunities for residents. A printing company will be able to provide all the signage, custom Stationery and other printed items that may be needed to help keep the operation running smoothly.
It is expected that the building will be completed and ready for people to move in sometime in 2016.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
