A Nashua event will raise funds to support a program that offers veterans a helping “paw” after they have hung up their uniform for the last time.
Operation Run to Rescue has been organized as a funding and awareness raiser for Operation Delta Dog. The program pairs up rescue dogs with veterans, and the run in the works is open to all ages.
The organizers of the run have created 5K, youth, and veteran registration, and the fee charged depends upon which one applies. The route winds its way through Mine Falls and will offer a quiet and relaxed experience. Each registrant may bring one dog to participate along with them, and special goodie Bags for these canine companions will be provided at the finish line.
To help make the day even more fun, prizes for the fastest team and best costumes will be awarded, and the first 200 to sign up before August 20 will receive a run T-shirt.
