Nashua fair celebrates sustainability

Nashua “nature nuts” will be congregating at a local venue for a morning that will highlight ways area residents can live a more sustainable lifestyle.

The plaza in front of the Nashua Public Library will be the location for its Sustainability Fair. It will be a time for sipping, sampling, and learning, and admission will be free.

The family-friendly celebration will see the public treated to samples of eco-friendly food, and a market will also be popping up. Anyone who would like to learn about the art and science of growing mushrooms at home can do so, and kits will be available for this for as long as supplies last.

A box turtle will be on hand for a meet and greet, and the crowd can find out how to keep them safe during egg laying season. Tables of information will be set up, and free soil sample testing is in the works as well.

An eco-friendly activity that requires decor or specialized printing services can access them at a local printer. They will have options that fit in well with the environmental theme of the occasion.

Nashua’s Public Library has teamed up with the City of Nashua Community Development to host this event on Saturday, April 25. More details, including how to gather and prepare a soil sample for drop-off, can be found on its Patch listing.
