The upscale food store has announced at a “local suppliers” meeting in Concord that it will open its Nashua location on August 19.
Whole Foods Market holds an emphasis on finding local businesses, growers, and producers interested in having their products on the market’s shelves. A second store is already in the works for Portsmouth, and the company is continuing market research in the state for other likely locations. Heather McCready, manager of public relations for Whole Foods in the North Atlantic Region, noted:
"Nashua's really just the beginning for us."
In addition to a new outlet for the state’s agricultural and seafood industry, Whole Foods will bring between 80 to 100 jobs to Nashua. The new store also offers an opportunity for additional revenue to be realized by other local businesses such as Print companies, which are able to supply Brochures, Flyers, and other materials needed for advertising and marketing,
The opening ceremony for all new stores includes one common element - a “bread breaking” event, symbolic of the traditional ribbon cutting ceremony. Though additional activities are planned for Nashua’s grand opening, McCready is not giving out any details beyond stating the day will be unique to the setting.
