A makerspace provides a venue for local artisans to both hone their craft and share their skills with others. There are several of these located in Nashua and the surrounding areas, and during MakeIt Fest, the public will have a chance to explore what they each have to offer, all in one place.
This outdoor event will both give area artists, craftspeople, and other makers a venue where they can show off their talents. At the same time, it will provide the public with an opportunity to learn what makerspaces are all about. A raffle has been planned, and there will also be demonstrations and other activities.
Those who attend the festivities will be able to sit in on a class and take a tour of MakeIt Labs, which will be hosting the event. There will be a Sumo Robot competition as well as a meet and greet with Star Wars character R2-D2. An exhibition of how ice cream can be made using liquid nitrogen is just one of the demos that have been planned, and all of this is free of charge.
Early bird registration for MakeIt Fest is now open, and those who choose this option will receive one complimentary ticket for the raffle. Signs can help those who participate to make the most from this sort of occasion, and Print shops will be happy to supply these.
MakeIt Labs will be welcoming the public to this celebration of the community’s creative spirit on June 8. It will run from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm.
