Holiday festivities to bring fun to Nashua area

The winter holiday season is fast approaching, and a Nashua area event will give people an opportunity to get together with their friends and family to bid it a warm welcome. There will even be a chance for them to add their own creative flair to the festivities.

The Merrimack Chamber of Commerce and the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a parade and holiday tree lighting, and the public is invited to participate. Anyone who is interested can enter a float, and the theme for the procession will be ‘A Girswold Family Christmas’. The parade will head out from the Commons Shopping Plaza and wind through the streets of the community before finishing up at the Merrimack Town Hall. Prizes will be awarded for the entries that show the most creativity. A Print company can provide Banners and other decorations for use during an event like this.

The tree lighting, which will include a visit from Santa, and a reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas will be held immediately after the parade.

The events will take place on December 4th, starting at 3:00 pm. Anyone who is interested in taking part is asked to complete and deliver a registration form to Merrimack Parks & Recreation, which is located at 116 Naticook Road. It can also be faxed to 603-883-5335 or sent by email to mcasparius@merrimacknh.gov.
