Event planned for Nashua nature lovers

Many people are fascinated by hawks, falcons, eagles, kites, and other birds of prey, and these feathered friends will be the stars of an upcoming afternoon that will welcome Nashua nature lovers.

Monadnock Falconry will be introducing the public to some of its birds when it hosts a presentation on a selection of the birds of prey found in the area. All ages are invited, and the program will run for two hours.

The in-person event, which has received support from the Nashua Public Library, will offer the chance to meet a Harris’s hawk up close, and there will also be flight demonstrations. Attendees can ask questions and learn more about these birds and the role they play in their ecosystems, and the fun will be on offer at the band shell in Greeley Park. Financial support for this activity has been provided by the Friends of the Nashua Library.

Attending a workshop, demonstration, or other group activity can make learning about nature even more fun. Copies of any handouts presented to the attendees can be prepared by a printing services company.

This opportunity to meet a Harris’s hawk up close and personal while learning about raptors and other birds of prey will run from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 12th. The library’s website provides more details about the activity.
