Cyclists asked to help at Nashua fundraiser

Nashua will be kicking off June with an event that will work to raise awareness of issues impacting veterans and their families, as well as funds for a local non-profit group.

A request has gone out to the community to take part in the Veterans Count Ride, which honors the memory of Jack Nash. The staging area for the activity will be located in Sargeants Park at Holman Stadium, and there will be a variety of options for people who would like to get involved.

This will be the fundraiser's 4th year, and there are routes of different lengths and difficulties on the agenda. Those with mobility challenges are encouraged to get involved, and a start time has been designated for them.

The participants can choose from a 10-, 30- or 50-mile route to cycle, and a virtual ride is on offer as well. The registration fee starts at $100 for each rider, and bibs will be made available for pickup ahead of the function. A banner printing company will be able to prepare a variety of materials including start and finish line markers, water station Signs and other items for an outdoor event.

The first wave of cyclists in the 2022 Veterans Count Ride will be hitting the pavement at 9:00 am on June 4. The registration area will open at 8:00 am.
